Irish Soup Ladle, Michael Keating, Dublin, 1784

A substantial piece of Irish sterling silver! This fiddle pattern soup ladle was made in Dublin by Michael Keating in 1784. It has an interesting crest on it, probably referring to one of the Scottish families that moved over to Ireland in numbers in the eighteenth century. In lovely condition, this ladle measures approximately 34 cm long and weighs 148 grams.
