George Jamieson was the son of William Jamieson, an Aberdeen silversmith.
He completed his apprenticeship in 1841 succeeding to his father who died in the same year and in 1862 he participated as exhibitor to the 1862 International Exhibition (presenting in the section Works in Precious Metals, and their imitations and Jewellery: granite and pebble ornaments). His pieces can be found marked for Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London. This piece is London made in 1864. This sterling Sugar Scoop measures 14cm and weighs 27 grams.
