Sauce labels were made, as the name suggests, for different types of sauce found in cruet sets. Much smaller than regular wine labels, they are a collecting area of there own. This sterling silver example is in an Octagonal shape with a double reeded border. It is stamped with the makers mark for Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, they were working in London between 1793-1810.
Maker's Mark a bit rubbed but readable.
It measures 1.5cm by just over 2cm.
