A nice piece of Scottish Provincial silver, this spoon is known as a mashing or masking spoon, it would be used to stir the tea leaves in the pot. It is in the Old English pattern with a nice period monogram. The reverse side is stamped with "ELN" for the north east Scottish town of Elgin and the "CF" maker's mark for Charles Fowler. It is in good condition, with just some slight bowl wear.
