Collection: Irish Provincial

Irish provincial silver, that is silver produced outside of Dublin, is an important collecting area. Cork and Limerick were the major centres, with Cork having a stronger and longer history of silversmithing, particularly in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Limerick silver is considerably rarer but here are a number of silversmiths that were working there in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. Other, even more scarce, locations include Galway, Youghal and Kinsale.
