Collection: French Silver

France has a long history of gold and silversmithing. For a number of centuries it had a complex but strict hallmarking system. This was simplified in the nineteenth century with a key stamp being the head of a goddess Minerva for silver, along with a maker's mark in a lozenge shape. French silver is often of the highest quality of design and manufacture.
