This sweet little sterling silver butter knife was made in Hobart around 1900. The original business was established by William Henry Golding in 1875 as a watchmaker and jeweller in Hobart, which later became Golding & Son. The business was considered Tasmania's oldest jeweller and a leader in the industry, a tradition continued by the family for generations until the recent retirement of the last Golding family member. Engraved 'SOUVENIR', it is good condition.

Stamped (rubbed but readable) to reverse 'STG.SILVER' 'GOLDING'

It measures 7cm long.
