A nice piece of Arts and Crafts silver, made by little seen silversmith Arthur William Morgan. He entered his mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1905 and had his workshop in nearby Clerkenwell. His father was also a silversmith. It has the lovely hand hammered finish of the Arts and Crafts movement.
This bowl was presented probably as a christening gift to 'Felicity Merle' and was assayed in London in 1909. It is in good condition, there are a few black spots as we haven't wanted to clean it too hard.
Clearly hallmarked (the maker's mark is a little rubbed)
It measures just over 12cm in diameter (at the top of the rim) and weighs 143 grams.
