Collection: English Provincial Silver

There were a number of other Assay offices in England. They opened and closed at different times, but included Newcastle, York, Sheffield, Birmingham and Exeter. Often thought to be cruder and not as good as the London silversmiths, there are a number of examples that show a number of the provincial silversmiths could match the big city counterparts.
