Oliver T Forster was part of a family of jewellers and watchmakers. His father William Henry was also in Melbourne, while his brother Henry was in Sydney. Oliver set-up in Collingwood around 1880. This goldstone brooch set in sterling silver has a nice set of stamps. This brooch is illustrated in the well known reference book 'Australian Jewellers: Gold and Silversmiths Makers and Marks' on page 100. It is in good general condition, the pin on the safety chain is broken off.

It measures 4.5cm long.
