There is a lot to make this spoon rare, even among Bermudan silver. Firstly it was made by Joseph Gwynn, a man who would end up being hung for murder in 1826 on the island. Secondly, as well as his maker's mark, it is also stamped 'Bermuda', only one other maker was known stamp his silver with the location. This spoon is monogrammed 'SSB' in colonial script. It is in fair condition, there is a split to the bowl and some bowl wear.
