A nice set of Australian vintage sterling silver. This substantial chalice and paten was made by John Edwin Hale in Adelaide. From the shape of his punches, this would ate from the mid 1960s to mid 1980s. Sourced from London, this may have been made in his Churchill Fellowship year in London (1976/77) at the Sir John Cass School of Art. 

Both pieces are clearly stamped with his maker's mark 'JEH' and Piping Shrike (the bird on the South Australian flag). 

The chalice measures 16.5cm high and 10cm in diameter and the paten is just over 15cm in diameter. They weigh a combined 600 grams.
