An elegant piece of English solid silver, this navette shaped tray with a reeded border is probably a teapot stand or card tray. It was made by the well known Bateman family, in this case the partnership of Peter, Ann and William. It was made in London in 1802. It is monogrammed 'RMH'. in good overall condition, there are a few black spots on the top.
Clearly hallmarked.
It measures just over 16cm long and weighs 132 grams.
