Collection: Victorian Era
The early Victorian period (1837–1860) prioritised heavy, ornate designs that combined historical revivals with newly mechanised production. Mid-Victorian silver (1860–1885) moved on in favour of naturalistic storytelling, geometric patterns (including Neo-gothic), and exotic Japanese-inspired design elements (Aesthetic Movement). The late Victorian period (1885–1901) saw a rejection of industrial fussiness, turning instead to the organic, flowing lines of Art Nouveau and the handmade purity of the Arts and Crafts movement.
