A beautiful Australian made brooch, it includes one Ceylon sapphire and two rose cut diamonds. It was made by RH Parker in Melbourne. Robert Parker arrived in Australia from England in 1874 and set-up the following year. He owned the business unitl his death in 1932 before it was taken over by his sons. This brooch is illustrated in the well known reference book 'Australian Jewellers: Gold and Silversmiths Makers and Marks' on page 184. It is in good overall condition.
It is hallmarked with the Manufacturing Jewellers Association of Victoria marks. A bello for Parker, '15' for 15ct and hanging sheep for 15ct.
It measures just under 6cm long and weighs 4 grams.
