A good heavy example of Georgian provincial english silversmithing, this tablespoon was made in Exeter by Richard Ferris in 1805. It has good bright-cut decoration and a monogram 'JL WL', so probably a wedding spoon. It is in good overall condition, so some slight bowl wear.
Hallmarked.
It measures 22.5cm long and weighs 83 grams.
