A nice pair of sterling silver sugar tongs. These were made in three pieces and then soldered together. This led to them being a bit weaker and not as robust, so the design changed to pieces made out of one piece of silver. These ones were made by Daniel Popkins in Dublin in around 1770. They are monogrammed 'JR'. In good overall condition, you can see the lines where the pieces were joined.
Clearly hallmarked.
They measure just over 14cm long and weigh 50 grams.
