This nice sterling silver presentation trowel (missing its wooden handle) was presented at a laying of a cornerstone for a church in Mt Erica, Victoria in 1870. See the photos for the newspaper report, including mention of this trowel. It was made by well know maker William Edwards.
The stamp to the back is quite rubbed, but there are remnants of 'W.EDWARDS' and 'STERLING SILVER'.
It measures cm long and weighs 160 grams.
